OSEES PIT
I popped out in Salt Lake City back in ‘99. I’ve lived and breathed music for all of my life, but have been shooting photos seriously for the last 6 years now. Naturally, I started shooting concerts pretty early on and really loved it! I’m constantly inspired by music photography from the fifties, all the way to the nineties. I love to look inside record gatefolds to see all the cool photos and learn the names of the rock photographers who created them. Henry Diltz, Anton Corbijn, Jill Furmanovsky, Jim Marshall, Mick Rock and Linda McCartney, to name a handful of my very favorites.
I’m proud to say I’ve taken some sweet photos of a handful of my all-time favorite bucket list artists, but the real focus of my work (and the most fulfilling part) is photographing, documenting, and archiving the Salt Lake City music scene that I love with my whole heart. Every roll of film I shoot is carefully scanned, cut, put into archival sleeves and stored safely inside protective dust-proof binders. The kid who just played their first show at Kilby Court gets the same archival treatment that Mac Demarco, Macy Gray, and Ringo Starr receive.
Even though music photography is what excites me the most, I’m also an avid landscape photographer. Whenever I get the chance, I really love venturing out a few hours out of Salt Lake City into the many beautiful canyons, forest and desert scenes that Utah has to offer.
Any photograph you see on my website or my socials is able to be hand printed by me in the darkroom. Shoot me an email if you’d like an all analog 1/1 custom print.
